News & Injury Updates
A significant number of managers are expected to play a chip💰 this week.
The current World No. 1 is yet to make a single transfer.
Cole Palmer is rumoured to be out for 3-6 weeks due to his ongoing groin injury (Simon Phillips).
Hugo Ekitike picked up a red card in the Carabao Cup, essentially guaranteeing an Alexander Isak start vs Crystal Palace.
Noni Madueke is likely to be out for 6-8 weeks.
Erling Haaland is yellow-flagged, but was pictured in training on Thursday. Pep Guardiola was uncharacteristically ambiguous in the midweek press conference on Wednesday: “Tomorrow [i.e. Thursday], we’ll see”.

🔁 Keep – Buy – Sell – Avoid
- ✅ KEEP
- Reijnders (£5.6m, Man City) — His next two fixtures are Burnley (H), Brentford (A); and he is the 2nd most nailed player after Haaland.
- Bruno Fernandes (£9.0m) — With United having Brentford and Sunderland, these are the games where Bruno is expected to justify his price tag and give his owners a major haul.
- 🛒 BUY/MONITOR
- Antoine Semenyo (£7.5m) — Pens + great fixtures from GW6. Huge ownership likely soon.
- Senesi (£4.7m) — Great entry-point (vs Leeds) into one of the only 2 defenders who have gotten 2 extra defcon points in all the 5 games.
- ❌ SELL
- Ekitike (£8.7m) — Suspended for GW6; Isak is fit; Liv fixtures not good.
- Cole Palmer (£10.4m) — Injured for at least 5 weeks.
- Watkins (£8.8m) - Poor form. Worst attack in the league.
- ⛔ AVOID
- Alexander Isak (£10.4m) — Ekitike will be back in GW7. Slot said Isak not ready for 90 mins yet. A lot of goal-sharing in Liv. Two hard fixtures next.
🎯 Low-Owned Differentials
💎 Phil Foden (£8.0m) — 4.6% * Plays Burnley; on Hot Form.
⚡ Bukayo Saka (£9.8m) — 4.5% * Good Fixtures; Madueke is injured.
🛡️ James Tarkowski (EVE, £5.5m) — 7.9% * defensive contributions monster.
🔥 Gianluigi Donnarumma (£5.6m) — 6.8% * Plays Burnley.
🎩 O'Reilly (MCI, £4.9m) — 0.4% * Starting left-back for City; who play Burnley
⚙️ Iliman Ndiaye (EVE, £6.5m) — 10.4% * Plays West Ham - bad defense.
⚽ Mbeumo (£8.1m) — 15.3% * Has great attacking data; Plays a leaky Brentford.
👑 Captaincy or Triple Captaincy?
Palmer is injured. Saka & Gyokeres face the best defence in the league in Newcastle. Salah (not in good form), is away at Palace, who are unbeaten in 17 games. We now then default to the best player in the league who has the best fixture possible of the entire season. Burnley rank bottom for Expected Goals Against, with 10.47, and 2nd bottom for big chances conceded, with 13. The question is whether to go further and Triple Captain him!
A note of caution would be what Burnley did to Liverpool in Gameweek 4, keeping a clean sheet until the 95th minute. It is likely that Burnley will set up with a similar 4-5-1 formation at Etihad. On paper, this is the perfect match-up of form and fixture to deploy the Triple Captain chip, particularly after Haaland was declared to be "ready" by Pep Guardiola in Friday's pre-match press conference.
⚖️ Verdict: Best player vs worst defence = Great Triple Captain.
🃏 Time to Wildcard in GW6?
Over 600,000 Fantasy Premier League managers have activated a chip ahead of GW 6. Remember, you CANNOT use more than one chip in any GW. If you are planning on playing your Triple Captain on Haaland at home to Burnley, you cannot play the Wildcard. The Wildcard is the most used chip ahead of Gameweek 6 so far, with over 300,000 managers activating the chip.
Playing the Wildcard allows you to remove underperforming players who are decreasing in value, such as Morgan Rogers (£6.9m), Florian Wirtz (£8.3m), Ollie Watkins (£8.8m); and buy players who are in-form and rising in value, like Marcos Senesi (£4.7m), Antoine Semenyo (£7.7m) and Erling Haaland (£14.3m).
It will also allow you to target upcoming fixture swings for Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and City; targeting differentials such as Saka (£9.8m), Enzo Fernandez (£6.7m), Iliman Ndiaye (£6.5m) and Phil Foden (£8.0m). Elsewhere, the promoted sides offer ultra low-priced centre-backs who can reward you with defcon points, especially Sunderland centre-backs.
