News & Injury Updates
Glasner on Ismaïla Sarr: “I think he will miss a few games. Maybe we won’t see him again before AFCON”.
Arteta on Saliba: “He was uncomfortable. I don’t think it’s something major, but enough not to be involved”.
Marcos Senesi is suspended in Gameweek 14 due to five yellows.
Nick Pope has a groin injury and will have a scan in a few days to determine its severity.
Matheus Cunha is expected to be back for Man United’s Gameweek 14 fixture.
Morgan Gibbs White (knock) and Murillo (illness) are expected to be available for GW 14.
🔁 Keep – Buy – Sell – Avoid
- ✅ KEEP
- Semenyo - Over the next 4 fixtures, Semenyo plays Everton, sitting 14th, Chelsea — who he already scored against, Man U with just one clean sheet all season, and Burnley, 20th in every defensive stat that exists.
- Joao Pedro — Leeds aren’t a defensive brick wall — they rank 15th for NPxGC, 16th for xGC, and 17th for Goals Conceded, meaning chances will fall Joao’s way.
- 🛒 BUY/MONITOR
- Munoz — Burnley sit 20th for shots, shots in the box and xG. That gives Muñoz clean sheet potential, assist potential, maybe even goal potential — a jackpot roll in one fixture
- Bruno (£8.9m)— United face West Ham and Wolves, teams ranking 19th & 20th for goals conceded, and 16th & 20th for goals scored — this means attacking upside + clean sheet/bonus ceiling.
- ❌ SELL
- Senesi — the most transferred out player this week. His suspension for five yellow cards makes the decision straightforward — he’s unavailable this week, and that alone is enough to justify an exit in midweek.
- Ismaila Sarr - Ismaïla Sarr’s ankle injury couldn’t have come at a worse time — but more importantly, it’s come with clarity. Oliver Glasner has openly stated that Sarr may not feature again before he departs for AFCON.
- ⛔ AVOID
- We are entering a very tricky fixture period with heavy fixture congestion in all club competitions. The next International Break is in March. This is the period to avoid payers who are injury doubts and injury prone.
- This is also especially the period to not buy players who get poor minutes in their teams and are prone to rotation. If the player you are eyeing falls into either of these 2 brackets, He is an 'AVOID'.
🎯 Low-Owned Differentials
💎 Elliot Anderson 4.1% * He has not missed a single minute this season. He already has 56 Points and is Forest’s Highest FPL point scorer. He may take the next penalty, as Gibbs White missed the last pen(& is also an injury concern)
Top Midfielders for DEFCON this season:
- Anderson- 175
- Xhaka- 146
- Szoboszlai- 145
- Caicedo- 140
- Bruno Fernandes- 137
⚡ Yankuba Minteh – £6.2 Mid – 8.4 %: 1 goal, 7 FPL Assists from 13 games this season. In fact, no player has more FPL assists than Minteh this season. They play W.Ham(twice), Burnley and Sunderland in next 7 games.
Maxence Lacroix – CRY – £5.1 Def – 5.5 %
Palace are joint 2nd for Goals conceded (11) and have the 2nd most Clean Sheets this season (6). Burnley have scored only 15 Goals (5th worst in the League), which could make this a fixture to target for your Palace defenders.
Josko Gvardiol – £5.8 Defender – 5.8 %
Offers a reliable choice in terms of minutes during this festive period. He is a good threat from set pieces. He Scored on Saturday. From 9 games this season, Gvardiol has had 7 Shots, Created 3 chances and has recorded 1.4 xGI.
Dewsbury Hall – Everton – £4.9 Mid – 3.6 %
Can you guess the Midfielder with most FPL Points over the last 4 matches? Not Saka, Not Salah, Not Mbeumo. It’s Dewsbury Hall with 31 FPL Points over the last 4 matches courtesy 2 goals and 1 assist; averaging more than 4.6 FPL Points per 90 minutes.
Ultra Differential Pick (Under 1 % Ownership)
Malick Thiaw- Newcastle- £4.9 Defender – 1.0%
Got a 16 pointer vs Everton in GW13 ( 2 goals). Newcastle are 4th best for xGC this season, only behind Arsenal, City and Liv. Thiaw is clearly one of the target men on set pieces with 9 Shots, 4 Big Chance Involvements, 1.5 xGI from 10 matches.
👑 GW14: Bruno/Mbeumo Captain?
Bryan Mbeumo or Bruno Fernandes (home to West Ham) and Bukayo Saka (home vs Brentford) are good options, but the risk of not going Haaland - whose stats remain very good - is too risky at the moment. United have been posting poor attacking numbers recently and is a more unpredictable team.
⚖️ Verdict: Captain Haaland

🃏 GW 14 Transfer Dilemmas
Q1: Should managers get rid of Antoine Semenyo?
Not yet. 0.6 expected goal involvements in Gameweek 13 showed promise. He plays Everton at home next. Do not get rid of him before that.
Q2: Should Erling Haaland still be a guarantee captain?
Yes. Haaland’s xG last GW (0.13) was the lowest he’s had all season, but his stats have still been good. There are not any dependable captaincy alternatives that have Haaland’s upside.
Q3: Is Igor Thiago essential?
Thiago has been good this season, but five of his 11 goals have been penalties. Either. He has Arsenal away next, so there’s no need to rush him in.
Q4: Should we sell Arsenal defenders whilst Gabriel is out?
Arsenal have only conceded 0.86 expected goals in the two gameweeks since Gabriel’s injury. 0.79 of those came against Chelsea. In other words, they’ve been a bit unlucky to have conceded in both of those games. Brentford (H), Aston Villa (A), Wolves (H) and Everton (A) are great fixtures for a defender. Keep them.
Q5: Is it time to get rid of Marcos Senesi?
The argument against keeping Senesi isn’t his one-match suspension; it’s the fixtures he has when he returns. Chelsea (H), Man United (A), Burnley (H), Brentford (A), Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H) and Spurs (H) aren’t great for a defender. But he gets reliable minutes and is more likely to get DEFCON against attacking sides.
Q6: Best Mid-priced Midfielders:
Three of the five most transferred-out players this week are mids (Caicedo, Sarr and Semenyo). Best replacements:
Most popular - Phil Foden (£8.1m)
The stats monster - Cody Gakpo (7.5m)
For all of Liverpool’s woes, no other midfielder has a higher expected goal involvement (4.0) than Gakpo over the last six gameweeks. As with any Liverpool attacker, his minutes are a risk, but Gakpo seems to have done enough to solidify his place in Slot’s preferred 11 for the meantime. |
Sunderland, Leeds, Brighton, Spurs and Wolves await - not a bad run at all. |
The cheap differential - Elliot Anderson (£5.3m)
Anderson (3.8% owned) offers steady reliability. In a month where your bench will almost certainly be needed, an affordable midfielder that delivers regular defensive contributions (he’s only missed out on points in five gameweeks) is a useful asset.
But in his last three games, Anderson has also added attacking returns. A goal and an assist, and two bonus points in Gameweek 13 despite a blank.
