News & Injury Updates
Arsenal is βcontinuing to assessβ Gabriel. Most sources are reporting 1-month absence at a minimum. Groin injury, possibly 1-2 months.
Benjamin Ε eΕ‘ko is set to be out until Gameweek 18.
Alisson is expected to be back by this weekend. Florian Wirtz and Connor Bradley are out.
Slot: We have five defenders available for 7 games in 22 days.
Antoine Semenyo returned to Bournemouth with a ligament strain. His recovery time is still unclear.
At 63% owned, Semenyo is also getting his own section below in the newsletter.
π Keep β Buy β Sell β Avoid
- β
KEEP
- Enzo Fernandes (Β£6.7m)β He plays Burnley (A). He was fully rested in the international break; and when Palmer is out - he is 1st choice pen taker.
- Guehi (Β£5.1m) β Though he was kept out of GW11 with an injury, he is now fully fit and has reportedly been in training with the Palace team.
- π BUY/MONITOR
- Bruno F / Mbeumo β United's recent uptick in form and their upcoming good fixtures are enough reasons to invest in those 2 mids.
- Thiago (Β£6.3m)β Is one of the most in-form forwards and frees up for your team a lot of money to buy the United mids or Saka. Excellent buy.
- β SELL
- Gabriel (Β£6.6m)β Nearly every source is reporting a 1-month absence at a minimum. He is surely missing at least the next 4 gameweeks; so SELL.
- Ndiaye (Β£6.6m) β Tough fixtures ahead, starting with away at United. The options around Β£6.5m and Β£7.5m all have great fixtures e.g. Sarr/Enzo etc.
- β AVOID
- I will suggest something different this week but very helpful and valuable as compared to dishing out 2 names for you.
- We are entering a very tricky fixture period with heavy fixture congestion in all club competitions. The next International Break is in March. This is the period to avoid payers who are injury doubts and injury prone.
- This is also especially the period to not buy players who get poor minutes in their teams and are prone to rotation. If the player you are eyeing falls into either of these 2 brackets, He is an 'AVOID'.
- Go for players who get minutes like those of Haaland/Salah/Saka/Bruno.
π― Low-Owned Differentials
π Thiago 12.4% * Best value striker in the game who is not Haaland.
β‘ Cunha 4.5% * Great fixtures for United. Plays (ST) with Sesko out.
π‘οΈ O'Reilly 2.9% * Plays as a very attacking LB for a good City defence.
π₯ Saliba 12.1% * With Gabby out, he'll be the main attacking target in set pieces.
π© Gakpo 13.2% * Wirtz is out so Gakpo is nailed to play 90 mins against NFO.
βοΈ Henderson 8.0% * Good route into the Palace defence.
β½ Ekitike 15.5% * Isak still not fit for 90. Punt on Ekitike at home to NFO.
π GW12 'non-Haaland' Captaincy Ranking
Erling Haaland is away at Newcastle who although have been poor in form lately, thrive in such matches in front of their roaring home crowd. With NEW having a fully fit 1st-choice 11, expect a tough match for City.
This is one of the few matches this season where if you are chasing your mini-league rivals, you can back against a Haaland captaincy. I will not captain Haaland this week due to the options below which offer me very enticing matchups that can rival and surpass Haaland's away game at St James' park:
Bryan Mbeumo (Β£8.5m) and Bukayo Saka (Β£10.1m) have the form and fixtures to outscore Erling Haaland (Β£14.9m) in GW 12. Mbeumo is the most-bought player, earning 480,000+ new owners for his home match against EVE.
Joao Pedro and Mateta could both be poised for another successful Gameweek against BUR and WOL respectively. Watch out for Salah too at home to NFO.
But the Mbeumo's superior goal threat is edging out Saka as the best Haaland alternative.
βοΈ Verdict: Best Alternative Captain = Mbeumo; Salah; Mateta; Saka

π Is Semenyo a Sell?
The most-owned midfielder in the game (by a massive 30% margin. Heβs definitely worth holding on to, considering his high ownership and potential to be fit for the game. If he is fit, youβll want him for that home fixture against West Ham. Also, he got engaged during the international break, and seemed more than comfortable getting down on one knee.
However, if you really want to buy the more in-form United midfielders who are almost at the price bracket of Semenyo, then it is very advisable to buy Mbeumo/Bruno for Semenyo. This is because they are showing better data and eye-test than Semenyo both individually & as a team.
Best Gabriel replacements?
One month out = Gabriel returns for Gameweek 17
Two months out = Gabriel returns for Gameweek 22
Barring a miracle, he has to go.
Virgil Van Dijk - Good fixtures, great DEFCON numbers, huge set piece threat. Virgil is also as nailed as a defender can be.
Daniel MuΓ±oz - Great underlying attacking stats, nice run of fixtures.
Another Arsenal Defender - Best defence in the league, placeholder until Gabriel returns - beware of rotation with a tight schedule. Pick Saliba out of the 4.
Marcos Senesi - Great defensive fixtures, great DEFCON numbers.
